With it, you can customize buttons and actions to suit your needs, and even replicate touch gesture controls on PC and Mac computers. Our Logitech Options™ software enables a full range of possibilities on our newest keyboards and mice. We know a thing or two about PC peripherals, but you might not know that we’re also software experts. In fact, according to, “the mouse and keyboard are king again” with Windows 10. What bothers me is knowing that customer service has taken a step back in ways that aren't evident unless you've got a history with Logitech.Windows 10 is here, and we’re excited about how our products can help you get the most out of this new operating system. The G502 that I picked up probably has superior components when compared to the G700 - teardowns showing the liberal use of micro-switches can attest to that. Good customer service is important as well, but only so much as I need it. This is verbiage aimed at investors, not at customers.Īs a customer, I buy based on product quality and availability. In the 'About' page, it talks about the strength of their distribution, how the products are available for sale in x countries. I referenced Logitech's website in my OP. The warranty process is fine - it's customer care that's taken a hit, and that's the part that troubles me. In the past, one could get a discount on a new product, incentive to remain a Logitech user. The thing is that they never promised a new mouse for exchange outside of the warranty window. The new Logitech G502 I have in front of me has a 3-year limited hardware warranty, so it would appear that at least some of their gaming products have greater than 2 years of warranty coverage. I've bought far too many Logitech products, and so far save for the MX700, none had broke within 3 years, so I remain skeptically confident of Logitech's quality, but hopefully there won't be a day when I have to deal with customer support. Why promise a new mouse for exchange, when no one else is doing this? Why promise warranty so far into the future, when the one single component that is most likely to randomly break (the switch) is not really in Logitech's control? With cost of production rising, and the overall maximum people are willing to spend on peripherals capped (~$120), it really isn't surprising that warranty is taking the hit. Logitech's legendary customer service was its greatest strength brand-wise, but from a corporate standpoint also a huge liability. ![]() If that's not a clear sign that Logitech doesn't care about warranty anymore, I don't know what is. All gaming products now have 2 years of warranty (down from 3~5 years), and all non-gaming ones have 1 year of warranty (even the MX Master).
